The natural next step in the evolution of our partnership…
Times have turned quite unpredictable for small businesses like ours, and we are currently taking all precautions needed to keep our team members safe. We are looking forward to a return to normalcy, and to a number of exciting events and projects which are waiting on the horizon. With our new brand, website, case studies and lighting collection in place, we’re looking on the bright side… and hope to bring brightness into the lives of our valued clients and partners. So without further ado, here’s the big announcement we’ve been hinting at…
We are delighted to finally announce that we are changing our brand name to Gwyn Carless at The Light Yard.
This new identity reflects our exclusive partnership with master craftsman Gwyn Carless – who is now manufacturing our entire range of bespoke handcrafted lighting from his Derbyshire-based studio.
The rebranding is the natural next step for Gwyn and owner of The Light Yard Jeff Fuller, and completely encompasses Gwyn`s original Outdoor Collection which he started back in 1995 as well as more recent designs.
The two have worked together to build one of the north west’s most innovative businesses, furnishing bespoke fixtures for commercial and residential builds across the UK, Europe and as far afield as the island of Maui in the US state of Hawaii.
To mark the occasion, we are launching a new wall light design – the latest addition to our acclaimed bathroom lighting collection. The contemporary IP44 fixture is handcrafted from steel and brushed brass, and has been designed to be used with both our classic Alchemist Collection of handcrafted glass shades and all the designs from our IP44 bathroom Calex Collection. “Our rebrand reflects our absolute confidence, both in the excellence of our products and in the strength of our business model. We have huge players and household names coming to work with us, so we know that Gwyn’s traditional skills and the brilliant luminaires coming out of the studio – together with five-star client care and our environmentally responsible, waste-reducing practices – are getting people’s attention.” –Jeff
“Over years of working together, Jeff and I have created an organically creative enterprise, which amounts to what is essentially a customer-facing lighting workshop. Joining together as one unified brand feels the exact right thing to do. Client communication and collaboration are integral to every project, and we will do whatever we can to accommodate the client’s specification so the outcome is truly bespoke.” –Gwyn
We may have a new brand identity, however our ethos rooted in creativity and environmental responsibility hasn’t changed one bit. Using energy-efficient, locally supplied components and sustainable materials we aim for the lowest possible embodied and operational carbon emissions in every product we develop. Our MOSO Bamboo bollards, part of the Outdoor Collection, represent the most environmentally responsible exterior luminaires available anywhere in Europe.
Our most memorable projects
To celebrate the rebranding, we are releasing the first two installments in our new series of case studies. Although it’s a challenge to express with mere words the process of creative problem solving involved, or the thrill of seeing our handcrafted lights incorporated into world-class residential and commercial projects, we have done our all to describe the intricate briefs and extensive collaboration required to deliver lighting solutions with real Wow Factor to our valued clients. Read our all new case studies here.
For us, these case studies are more than just a walk down memory lane. We’re proud of every luminaire and every step in our journey; they have made us the company we are today.
